It's not just the pain. It's the pattern.

You’ve tried the lot. Rounds of physio, the scan, maybe an injection. Pilates, yoga, the foam roller. Some of it helped for a week. None of it stuck.

So you’re stuck in the cycle. Pain, rest, feel okay, train, flare up, rest, repeat. Meanwhile your back is calling the shots. What you lift. How you sleep. Whether you can pick up your kid.

This isn’t in your head. It isn’t your age. Your spine isn’t shot. Nothing you’ve tried has fixed what’s actually driving it.

Why I don't accept "learn to live with it."

When I was thirteen, I watched a system that didn't have time for my mum fail her, piece by piece. Years later my own back went, and I got the same care. A few tests, a script, good luck.

So I built the opposite.

Here you get seen. A full hour, the whole picture, and a plan built on what we actually measure. You're not broken. You're not a lost cause.

We don't guess. We measure.

Most chronic back pain isn't structural damage. It's a control problem.

Your pain is real. But real pain doesn't always mean a damaged spine. More often the system that's meant to stabilise and move you has lost the plot. The deep muscles switch off, the load goes to the wrong places, and the pattern repeats. You can't fix that with passive treatment. Massage won't. Adjustments won't. Training harder on a broken pattern won't.

So we measure it. AxIT force-plate testing puts real numbers on how your body produces force. Left versus right. What's switched off. Where you're compensating. We baseline it on day one and retest as we go, so your progress is something you can see, not something you take on faith.

What happens when you stop managing your back and start rebuilding it.

Jo's Story

In a hospital bed she believed she'd never carry her daughter again. Now hauls her up a bush trail on her shoulders.
"Fractured spine? Never heard of her."

Jack's Story:

8 out of 10 pain, off the court. Three months later, 1 out of 10 and back playing basketball.

Georgio's Story:

Couldn't play with his kids. Now rebuilding strength and chasing them again

Gifford's Story:

Couldn't garden or walk with his wife. Walked through Patagonia, pain free

Dee's Story:

Told after a rare muscle condition she'd never move again. Now deadlifting 60kg.

Mark's Story:

Couldn't lift a grocery bag without pain. Now deadlifting 140kg, pain free.

BEEN TOLD YOU NEED SURGERY?

Most chronic back pain doesn't need a surgeon. It needs a rebuild.

By 40, half of pain-free people have a disc bulge on their MRI. By 80, it's 84%. A finding on a scan is not proof of the cause of your pain. For a lot of people staring down surgery, twelve to sixteen weeks of progressive loading and objective testing changes the picture entirely.

To be straight with you: some backs genuinely need a surgeon. If yours is one of them, I'll tell you, and point you to the right one. Surgery should be the last resort. Not the first, and not never.

WHY THIS ISN'T PHYSIO, AND ISN'T A PT

You've been everywhere. It didn't fail because the people were bad. It failed because none of them were doing what you actually needed.

Standard physio

Treats you session by session, then discharges you the moment the acute pain settles, before the pattern is fixed.

Standard personal training

Is built for general strength, not for pain. It loads you up on a broken pattern and hopes.

Massage and chiro

Feel great for a day. They don't touch the control problem underneath.

Neura Rehab

Is a movement assessment, AxIT testing, weekly 1-on-1 coaching, your program in an app, and a clear finish line.
I'm not a physio, and I'm not a PT. What I do lives in the gap between them, which is exactly where chronic back pain falls. You graduate when your back has graduated.

One door. The Movement & Strength Assessment.

STEP 01

Book it

No forced phone call. No menu of programs to self-diagnose your way through. You book the Movement & Strength Assessment, $100, straight into the calendar.

STEP 02

Get measured

60 minutes, in person at FITAZ. A full movement screen and AxIT force-plate testing, a clear read on what's actually driving your pain, and a written roadmap you keep, whatever you decide next.

STEP 03

Right level of care

The $100 is credited toward your plan if you continue. From there I recommend the right level of care. Might be one session. Might be a rehab phase. Might be nothing..

"At your retest, if the numbers say you don't need me anymore, I'll tell you."

Most clinics are built to keep you. This one is built to give you your life back, and let you go

Still Unsure?

This is for you if you've had back pain for three months or more, you're done with temporary fixes, and you'll do the work. It's not for you if you want a passive quick fix with no effort on your side. That's fair. It's just not what this is.

My physio didn't work. Why would this be different?

Physio often stops the moment the acute pain settles. We keep going until the pattern and the strength underneath it are rebuilt, and we prove it with numbers, not a feeling.

Will my back pain ever go away? Is it permanent?

For most back pain, no, it isn't permanent. Real pain doesn't mean a permanently broken body. A system that has lost control can be retrained.

Why does my back pain keep coming back?

Because nothing has fixed the pattern driving it. We measure that pattern and retrain the system underneath it, instead of chasing the symptom.

Can rehab help me avoid back surgery?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on what your scan shows and what your movement assessment reveals. Most chronic back pain isn't actually structural, even when a scan looks ugly.

Discs and joint changes show up on the imaging of pain-free people all the time. The deciding factor is usually whether your nervous system has lost control of the stabilising muscles around your spine, and that's exactly what we assess.

If rehab is likely to work for you, I'll tell you. If surgery is genuinely the right call, I'll tell you that too. The framework draws on the work of a neurosurgeon (Dr David Johnson, NeuroHab Method) and the world's leading low back researcher (Professor Stuart McGill) for a reason.

Are You A Physio?

No. Remedial therapist and exercise rehab specialist, 17 years, working in the gap between physio and personal training.

What does it cost?

The assessment is $100, credited toward your plan if you continue. Ongoing care is prescribed after the assessment, once we know what you need. No lock-in. No surprise pricing.

Can I claim this on private health or Medicare?

Private health, yes, depending on your cover. Not through Medicare.

I'm not in Brisbane. Can we still work together?

Yes. The online program is structurally identical to in person.

Not sure if i can help you?

Book a free 15-minute call. If I can help, I'll tell you the next step. If I can't, I'll tell you who to see.

What if it doesn't work?

If we get to the assessment and I don't think I can help you, I'll tell you upfront. If we work together and you're not making progress, we adjust the plan or part ways professionally. This is a working relationship. The trust runs both ways.

Stop managing your back. Start rebuilding it.
One assessment. Real numbers. An honest answer on whether I can help, and what comes next.
